Jenni Murray has just announced that she has breast cancer

...at the end of Women's Hour she just said she would be having some time off for treatment. She said the prognosis is excellent, thank goodness.

just heard this anorak. so so sad.she sounded really positive thought. I can't help thinking about Nick Clarke-another R4 presenter who had cancer and recently died- and who she must have known really well.

Met her once, she was larger than life in every way, v impressive woman.

gosh that's awful, she's a brilliant broadcaster, really hope it all goes well for her.

Just read that her Mum died the day before her announcement so she has so much to deal with. Hope she makes a good recovery.
