paracetamol's fine.

DumbledoresFairy · 20/12/2006 18:45

Why would paracetamol unblock an ear? Have I missed something?

MrsBadger · 20/12/2006 18:48

try the towewl-over-head steam inhalation (with or without olbas or eucalyptus oil) - apart from that there's not a lot you can do except wait it out...

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 20/12/2006 18:49

No, it won't unblock the ear but it'll help with the pain.

twoplusone · 20/12/2006 18:49

thank tou... do you think it could be the stsrt of an ear infection....

From experience, absolutely b*gger all unblocks your ear until it's ready to unblock itself if it's a cold/ear infection.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 20/12/2006 18:51

I'd go to my GP to get it checked out before Christmas just to be on the safe side!!

twoplusone · 20/12/2006 18:52

What do you mean ublock your ear? Is it wax, after a cold?

Room temperature olive oil, add a few drops into your ear, wait a couple of mins (have some cotton wool or tissue handy to catch any excess oil).

I'd like to know how to get my voice back atm - I am the gruffalo accordint to my kids!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 20/12/2006 18:55

Does it hurt if you don't blow your nose? I had a raging ear infection one christmas and it was shooting pains up into my ear.

twoplusone · 20/12/2006 18:59

Try blowing one nostril at a time - that can help. You have my sympathies. I had acute sinusitis when I was last pregnant and could not take any ABs for it. I think I could have had penicillin, but I am allergic to it. It was agonising for several days and frustrating as I knew with ABs it would have been gone in a day or so.

still alittle blocked this morning , nut it doesnt hurt which is a bonus!! Too much to do to be ill,,
Thank you all for your advise..
