Cold sore?

I have a little red spot on the edge of my lower lip. Wasn't there last night, this morning, its not painful, maybe a little tender if i rub my finger over it.

I've never had cold sores or herpes, neither has my husband. I'm just a little worried as i have a young baby.

Spot or cold sore? Im can get to a pharmacy later. Thanks!

Hopefully just a spot however the virus can stay dormant and pop up under times of stress, like giving birth.

I swear by tea tree oil. Just dab it on regularly as soon as you can and hourly after. It stinks but I find it works better than any pharmaceutical stuff.

And hard as it is keep your mouth away from your baby and wash your hands often.

The transparent little stickers you can buy have always worked for me - stops the stinging and gets rid of cold sore quicker. Also a good way to protect your baby. I cant remember the name of the stickers.

Thanks, I've had a really good look in the mirror and it looks like a tiny Paper cut that goes on the very edge of my lip up toward my mouth, maybe 3mm long.

I think a cold sore would be more blister like?

Its not tingling or anything so I'm hoping its just a little cut!
