Lump in vein

Had an op 2 weeks ago, the hand that had the iv in has a small lump I think in the vein, I only noticed as its where my wrist and hand join so when I bent my hand forward it was a bit sore, it's tender to touch and the lump moves slightly but not out of where it's located iyswim.

Is this normal after having an iv in?

I had exactly as you describe on the vein in my hand, from an operation about 6 years ago. It disappeared eventually, not sure when but not within a few months if I remember. I remember noticing it all the time then not so I assumed it reduced in size so gradually that I never noticed when it was gone. It never caused me any problems.
