is this a DVT?

But worried....throbbing pain in one area on outer right thigh. Came on yesterday. Doing it again today.
Smoker.
Mother had a DVT at 49. I'm 41.
Been dashing about for Xmas so not been sedentary at all but I was in hospital two months ago and have had periods of lying down since then.

Do I need to get this checked out now or can it wait til Monday?

Is it red? Swollen? Hot to touch? If you're concerned though, and there's a family history probably better to get it checked out.

It's not swollen, hot or more veiny....I'm inclined to wait til Monday but feel uneasy about it

Can you at least call 111 for advice?

Out of hours? my mum had DVT several times without the classic symptoms of redness and swelling. diagnosed by ultrasound. If it is a DVT (and nobody here can diagnose you), you should be seen sooner, not in 3 days. I would not take a chance with it.

Can you measure your calves? Is one significantly bigger than the other?

I had this when I was PG and my legs were a bit swollen anyway from water retention.

It wasn't a DVT in the end but I was stuck in the clinical assessment ward for hours, on a bed, with ill people all around, they kept trying to weigh me so they could give me clexane, which I didn't want because I can't even remember why, and it was precautionary.

They measured my legs a lot. I was sent for an ultrasound at one point but no results till the next day apparently?

I discharged myself in the end. I only lived two minutes away.

Measure your leg, see if it is any wider than the other one. Keep tabs on the pain. If it does start to look red, or hurt more, or feel hot, then act obviously.

Or you could go in now, just in case. I'm not sure what I'd do in your position.

There is absolutely no difference between legs, ie size, veins etc. I'm totally on the case. Think ill relax a bit. Thank you guys and happy new year.
