Headache since Christmas Eve

Hi I've had a headache since Christmas Eve really on and off. Painkillers don't touch it. It's above my right eye and sometimes back of my head. Not my eyes as had them tested yesterday and they photographed back of eye etc all fine. When partner massages my shoulders it seems to help relieve it. I've recently changed pillows and started to use an electric toothbrush but surely they aren't responsible?! It is worse when I move my head. Any ideas please. I'm planning on going to Gp early next week if no relief.

Probably a trapped nerve, really hurt I'm afraid!

It might be worth you having a read of this thread about a bug that's going around which seems to have symptoms like this.

Are you feeling really tired and off your feed as well?

Could be a bug, or, it may be because your neck and shoulders are tight? Try doing some gentle stretches and see if it helps?

Sounds daft but pillows can sometimes cause headaches if not suitable for you.

I agree sometimes pillows can give headaches...At the beginning of last year I had a really bad headache in the back of my head that lasted for 3 days I was worried as painkillers didn't touch it...I would stop taking tablets as these can also give you a headache if taken frequently ...At the time of my head pain I was under a lot of stress which as my Dr said gave me strain on my shoulders and neck ...Try to relax but it's worth a trio to the Dr if it persists ..I hope you feel better soon

Most likely sinus , I get it all the time it's very painful , take sinus pills .

I am going to say sinus too. That's exactly how my first sinus infection started, a constant headache for over a week . I went to the GP thinking it was migraine or something and she said straightaway it was sinus and put me on antibiotic. Within a day or 2 the headache had started to go.

Thanks everyone it was horrendous last night I thought I was going to be sick. Not as bad today but sinus was something I had thought of too. Thanks all. GP next week then I think

I have this, on and off, at the moment. No joy from painkillers or sinus tablets. I do have a pretty bad infection too, so that might be contributing - I've got lots of antibiotics for that but they haven't touched the headache.

The only pill combination that touches mine is 1 tesco blocked nose pill , 400 mg ibuprofen and 2 30/500 mg cocodamols all taken together .

Could it be migraine. This is usually one side of the head, and the pain often seems lodged behind one of your eyes. In the morning when you wake it's often at the top of your head before "settling" behind one of your eyes. Painkillers sometimes don't touch it - they never did for me. The only thing that shifted the pain was one of the triptans - (naratriptan) (sumatriptan) - they aren't pain killers but they reduce the swelling in the blood vessels around the brain that cause the pain. They changed my life!
