happened this afternoon whilst i was lifting dd into a swing. it's the small of my back to the left. it's radiating down my left leg too. a bit like sciatica when i was pg. god, it's really painful when i move, especially when i bend down. i haven't had any pain killers (though have had a glass of wine....). what shall i do? i need it to be better. waaaaaaaaah. tried lying on the floor, not much good. heeeeeeeelp.

ooh nooo...much sympathy. I did this in the summer and i was in so much pain i didn't know what to do with myself.Spent one day on my hands and knees looking after a 3 year old....and weeping
I took parcetamol and nurofen. Used a hot water bottle....errm ...i don't think there was much more to do except wait for it to ease up
Aww...hope you start feeling better soon!

foxinsocks · 16/12/2006 20:18

tbh, I dunno. Have never had back problems (but dh does) - just thought I would sympathise with your plight.

foxinsocks · 16/12/2006 20:19

I would take the nurofen though.

hoxtonchick · 16/12/2006 21:15

Curl up in a ball and pull your knees up to your chin, with your arms wrapped round them. It stretches your lower back out and can release trapped nerves.

It always helps with my knackered back.

will try that, thanks. was much better after a decent night's sleep but i'm walking around very gingerly.
