P20 and a Dad who has had skin cancer

My mum reckons that my Dad should use P20 sun stuff daily after having several rodent ulcers removed from his face. I was going to get him aftershave for his Christmas present and she said he shoudln't as it affects the efficacy of the P20.
SO I looked up the p20 website and it DOES let some UVA rays through.

Surely this is BAD?

Depending on what his dermatologist said re suncream after the ulcers were removed it might be a good idea to find another brand that has better UVA protection.
Of course the bonus of P20 is it's 'once a day', but the Piz Buin 10-hr one is meant to be good too - I'd go to Boots and read some bottles and see what you can find with high UVA and UVB and long-lasting protection.

Re his Christmas present, why not get him a shower gel / deodorant / etc set in the fragrance you thought he'd like rather than stuff for his face?

In the winter P20 should be fine. In the summer, I think he should be looking at a total sunblock of factor 45 upwards. If he has had ulcers removed, he may well be able to get such a sunblock on prescription.

I use Bergaderm as we live in the tropics. It stops UVA & B getting through and lasts for six hours. It's not cheap (gbp11.99 a can) but is easily to apply as it's a mousse and also non-greasy. Sainsbury's stock it. Hth.

Once a day ones are generally frowned upon, and you need to use THREE tbsp of lotion on a body every time.
