Painful Stitches - USE VASELINE BEFORE URINATING

I have just had my first baby, and a natural birth, with 2 sets of stitches. I find it much less painful to urinate if i clean the area first, then apply plenty of vaseline, then lean forward with my legs together. After, clean again with wet toilet roll and apply more vaseline. Please pass this on to anyone you know who is pregnant - i only wish i had discovered this a few days ago- but better late than never! My little girl is now 1 week old and although i am still a little uncomfortable, this method makes things a lot less painful.

Don't forget to dry with a hairdryer after washing/bath/shower.
