Another menstrual cup thread...!

Just wondering for those of you who are aficionados.., I have a mooncup, it fits well, works well etc, BUT (And it's a big one!) when it comes to taking it out, I am terrified of provoking a prolapse! Basically it vacuums around my cervix, which is quite high, and it's hard to get it out no matter how well I try to break the seal (presumably because my cervix is trapped right in it... Sorry if this is revolting for some!) anyway I have had a prolapse after dd3 and I have had hysteropexy surgery (basically hitching everything back up and stapling it on to my sacrum with some mesh) so everything should stay in place but my cervix does seem to come down quite a bit on trying to remove it, thus rendering me v paranoid!

So- 2 questions-
1- does everyone else find it just sits mid vaginal vault rather than hoovering up your cervix, and

2- if I got a different brand would that make any difference?

I'm all for saving the planet but not st the expense of my cervix and my sex life

Hmmm... I have been using one for a few years now - and never had issues with it getting stuck as you describe.

Do you push it up too far, do you think ? I doesn't need to be high up - just high enough that it will stay put.

I haven't ever tried the other types - but there are a few that are different shapes - some look to be shallower ?

Thank you, it helps to know It doesn't happen to everyone! I've tried having it quite shallow, and I've nearly cut all of tail off but it finds it's way up there (or maybe my cervix finds its way down?? Grim thought!)

Have you tried bearing down before removing it? Mine sometimes travels quite high, I bear down until it's easier to grip to break the seal.

Put your finger inside your vagina around the back of the cup and pinch it it to push the cup side away from the side of your vagina. You need to release the seal before pulling it down or you will just hoover up your cervix when you pull it down. I think if the cup moves itself up then it is finding its own 'right position', so I would say keep the cup and find a way of releasing the suction.
