Currently have a copper coil as contraception and no problems at all.
DH not wanting to think about a 3rd child, but I am, and so am hoping the normally very reliable form of contraception will fail(against the odds)
Any stories of failures to help me feel hopeful?

Ha ha, I'm going to be doing the same after dc3 arrives . A friend's sister fell pg with her 2nd with a coil fitted so it's definitely not unheard of. Good luck .

Yes - my mother, with me! But she has a womb that is a funny shape so she knew it would be less effective for her than normal.

My dd is 21 weeks today and i got pg with a copper coil in! It slipped out slightly so still felt like it was there, but was half oin/half out and the little swimmers got through after 4 years of effectiveness....Alls well that ends well; DH loves her to bits and she is gorgeous.

all very encouraging thankyou
otherwise require a miracle, win the lottery or write best selling novel a la Bridget Jones in order (in Dh's eyes) to afford DC3

Um, well my friend got pg whilst fitted with a coil, which then was whisked out pronto. Whoever took it out said it was the worst-fitted coil she had ever seen! (This was told to me many years ago pre-kids and made little sense to me then, but I'm sure that's what she said). Child is now 12.

WEll, Im on my 2nd coil - the 1st lasted about 7 years with no pg, so I expect this one will do the same. I'm 40, so I don't expect much could happen!

sorry I think that counts as a success story, I suspect mine will work well like yours
I agree it is a great form of contraception but I only want to hear about all the dismal failures pleaseplease

My good mate had a baby with the coil fitted. He was 18 yesterday and is a big bruising rugby player!

Best of luck
