Ate something, 3 hours ago, Had labour type pains about an hour after, on and off, and now have the runs.
Was it the food I ate?

That would seem a bit quick to me charliecat. I have read before that is usually occurs from 2-4 hours after eating the food in question.

Perhaps it is just a tummy bug and eating got it started?

charliecat · 10/12/2006 20:14

Maybe...Hoping it goes soon Thanks for replying.

Could it be an intolerance?? That is exactly how my intolerance to quorn started (about 6 weeks after the birth od ds2)

I hope you feel better soon

it can depend on what food it was and how tolerent your tummy is to the bacteria. i've had food poisoning twice, first time from chicken, only took 30mins and i was bad, took a whole month to get over it fully. second time was prawns, and it wasn't until early next morning that it started.

i still can't stomach chicken very well even now. hope you feel better soon, try flat coke, can work really well with some people at settling the stomach.

I had that happen once after eating a Chinese take away. Literally within 20 minutes of eating it, I developed agonising stomach cramps followed by a nasty episode of the squits!
Food poisoning normally takes a few hours to kick in though, from what I've heard.
Hope you're feeling better soon.
