Coughing after extertion at 5 - asthma???

Ds (5) has had a bit of a cough. Seemed to be gone. Recently started coughing after exertion. Could this be a sign of asthma?

I had exercise-induced asthma as a child - hence query.

I have it too. Might be worth checking out. Coughing is really the only symptom I've ever had so it went forever before I got it properly diagnosed.

Thanks jabberwocky - think I'll take him to doc in the week to check. He loves football (although is pretty rubbish!) and has started rugby and I don't want him to end up being put off sport like I was. I used to wheeze like anything after running and my Dad used to tell me off for being unfit! Had my first full blown asthma attack in my 30s so wasn't diagnosed till then.
