My bum hole looks terrible

Hardly the most appealing of topic titles - I'm sorry. I've name changed as am a regular and don't want to be remembered as "her with the dodgy bum hole" Blush

I bleed when I poo. Have done for a long while now but put it down to a combination of post-pregnancy piles, poor diet and constipation etc. I rarely bath, instead I shower daily, but I bathed last night and my bottom stung like never before in the water. Had a look contorting myself so badly you'd have all wet yourselves laughing and I had a bit of a shock.

It looked 'spikey' in two areas - like raised scar tissue and I'm certain that there's a fissure there somewhere. I spotted a small pile (I think) but nothing big. All in all, I can't keep saying bum-hole that area looks so unhealthy.

I'm going to have to visit the GP, aren't I? What will they do? Will they examine me? God! I am overdue a smear test too so I have a few embarrassing appointments coming up, don't I?

Apologies for the 'off' attempts at humour. Am embarrassed even writing this.

Sounds like you should get your smear test booked. You can book to see dr about the piles too... Do you use anything like preparation H?

Savagebeauty · 15/11/2015 09:53

Definitely go to the doctor.
And thank you for making me smile this morning Smile

Ouch
Yes, just go. It's embarrassing but they'll be used to it even if you're not. You'll feel so happy after you've done it and the smear!

MrsDiesel · 15/11/2015 10:00

I would get that smear booked straight away and yep get youthful hole looked at. It will be embarrassing for a few mins and then it is over. You can do it. When I am in an embarrassing situation I prattle on about rubbish. I am sure they have seen it all before.

WheresMyBurrito · 15/11/2015 10:03

It'll be nothing they haven't seen before. Yes, it's an embarrassing thing to have them look at, but they will probably be able to give you something to help. Hope you feel better soon!

whatdoIget · 15/11/2015 10:03

If you've got any coconut oil, apparently that's very soothing and healing for fissures.

dynevoran · 15/11/2015 10:06

From my own experience I would say if you have a fissure you will know about it. The agony of doing a poo is very intense. So maybe is just piles?

ChipInTheSugar · 15/11/2015 10:10

Do fissures make it feel like you're pooing and farting shards of glass? Can a gp actually do anything except advise about diet?

MajesticWhine · 15/11/2015 10:11

You will feel great when you've done it. They will have seen worse. I once had to go with half a tampon lodged up my vagina which was very stinky.

AtSea1979 · 15/11/2015 10:14

Book the smear and ask the nurse to take a look whilst you are there. Nurses are used to dealing with these things.

NumptyFromNumptyland · 15/11/2015 10:22

Yes, pooing glass is a very apt description.

I have to breathe deeply every time I go for a poo.

It's hell.

Will book tomorrow.

Lansinoh applied to the arsehole and high fibre diet (plus Fibrogel) sorted my fucking agonising fissure out.

Go to the doc.

dynevoran · 15/11/2015 12:24

Okay then might be a fissure. Definitely go. I treated mine post childbirth with a very fibrous diet and cut out sugar and white starchy carbs. Already don't eat meat . Poor ds had one recently and Dr prescribed (I think it was) lactulose which made his stops absorb more water in his bowels to make sure he had no big or hard poos. Took 2 or 3 days to improve after this.
