Mines 7! I'm 43 and on the cusp of healthy/overweight.

Bit concerned really as only 2 years ago it was 5.5.

What's yours?

4.7 and am very overweight (probably 6 stone overweight).

FuckyNell · 12/11/2015 23:29

Oh dear Neu so there's no rhyme or reason then eh? I'm worried I might get pressured into statins

No. I must admit I avoided having it done for years then bit the bullet a couple of years ago. I would guess my BMI was about 40 then so I was very pleasantly surprised and relieved.

I have since lost a couple of stone but still have cholesterol that varies between 4.4 and 4.8 so fine.

Good luck with yours.

I wonder whether the doc will mention statins. I thought though that you had to have other raised markers though?

Did you check it yourself or at gps? What body shape are you?

Pleasemrstweedie · 13/11/2015 11:26

59, healthy weight, cholesterol 6.2 or thereabouts for the last five years.

GP has never mentioned statins to me.

FuckyNell · 13/11/2015 13:10

I had an over 40 check at gp and that was 5.5 then a couple of months ago a bupa health screen was 7.

I'm an apple I guess? 5'4 10 stone 4

FuckyNell · 13/11/2015 13:11

Mrs did your gp even say yours was high?

OP posts:
gamerchick · 13/11/2015 13:12

5.3 at my last check and it shows on my face Angry the gps not concerned as I had 'more good than bad' whatever that means. No statins here.

FuckyNell · 13/11/2015 13:17

IM GONNA DIIIIEEEEE Grin

Mines higher than all yours!!

OP posts:
FuckyNell · 13/11/2015 13:18

How does it show in your face?

OP posts:
berylbainbridge · 13/11/2015 13:18

I asked about body shape because I wondered if you might be an apple (like me!) as we're more prone to that sort of stuff I believe Sad

FuckyNell · 13/11/2015 13:24

Oh great.

I guess I need to lose a few pounds then Sad

berylbainbridge · 13/11/2015 13:44

It's just a bit more important to keep your waist size, in particular, under the 33 inches mark, as Apple shapes carry more fat around their internal organs and are a bit more prone to diabetes, heart disease etc. Depressing but apparently true. I need to get a few inches off as have been just under the 33 inch mark for a few years and have piled on over a stone in the last 6 months.

gamerchick · 13/11/2015 13:44

Xanthelasma. One of the most upsetting things ever to happen to me. Angry
