Can anyone tell me about tendon damage?

I asked before but no response, thought id try again!

MRI scan in July showed possible tendon damage on both ankles and a tear in one tendon in one ankle.

I have had a few periods where my ankles have been very painful, one ankle in particular - a year ago and about 6 weeks ago got really swollen, agony, unable to walk. Lasts a few days then eases off.

I haven't had any follow up appointments to the MRI scan yet, unlikely to for a few months.

I've had some other health issues which are being investigated so not too worried about trying to work out cause.

However my ankles seem almost totally better, just a bit stiff. Can tendons heal themselves?

I am no expert but have been suffering from tendonitis (so says the physio) for a couple of months now .. doing the exercises, strapping the affected foot up at night, etc but so far still sore and wakes me up in the morning and is on and off all day. According to Dr Google this should go away so am still optimistic. X-ray showed swelling and narrowing but at my age this is normal. That's all I have sorry!

It depends on how you damaged them and if you have good connective tissue.

Thanks for replies.

Probably not got great connective tissue as I think I have similar issues with lots of joints. Only ankles were scanned.

I guess I may find out more in a couple of months. Just worried treatment involves immobilising in any way so hoping it might not be necessary. If its exercises like allpally it'd be fine.

If your connective tissue is weak, don't let them operate.
