I saw the community paed with ds on Monday.
Today I received a three page letter which was a summary of ds's medical history so far, as well as of the examination on Monday.

A lovely, detailed letter which showed that the community paed had really taken an interest and listened to what I had to say - and what a quick turnaround!

What a contrast to ds's consultant at the hospital...

yay!

what is happening with the lung specialist?

EmkanaCookTurkeyLikeICan · 07/12/2006 21:58

We saw the lung specialist last week, and he is arranging for a few tests to be done to try and find out why ds keeps having chest infections.

He was very nice as well!

and bloods having to be taken? not fun but at least is sounds like you are finally making some progress

no doubt, this will be the point where his lungs will miraculously start improving

EmkanaCookTurkeyLikeICan · 07/12/2006 22:17

worse than the bloods will be the test for reflux

involves a tube being stuck down his nose

All geneticists are lovely though

That's great about the doctor, what a difference it makes.

mmm reflux test is not nice - but honestly, he will hardly notice it (sounds horrible to us but for some reason, babies seem more tolerant of tubes down noses!). That's the gold standard reflux test so at least you will have a definite answer.
