gastrobug-week 2 hell

I'm 7 months pregnant and miserable..

It's week 2 of my gastrobug and don't seem to be improving. I've had a previous bad cold bug for 3 wks which went straight into this bug so it's been a tough time.

I couldn't keep down fluids and Drs were concerned by dehydration for the baby so I've been given anti sickness medication. It's not stopped me being sick completely but I have been able to keep down water.

Is it normal to have a gastro bug for this long? Dh had it and was better in a few days. I'm going to have to get signed off from work at this rate which feels wrong for a gastro bug.

Dd (2) also has it and has had it for over a week now. Her nappies are still dodgy and she has a lower appetite but sickness has stopped.

Seems a long time but I am not a good patient..

upset tummies can last this long -but shd be getting gradually better not worse or the same. Can the gp give you advice re boosting your ability to fight off these debilitating bugs and viruses or refer you? especially being pregnant and having a 2year old , you need more advice. I hesitate to suggest high dose vit c powder mixed into constant glasses of water so please check what your gp thinks about it first.
