Ovulation pain causing fainting- what to ask GP

I don't faint generally and I've never had problems with my periods and am in my late 30s. For the last 2 cycles during ovulation time I've had sudden severe pain in my RHS ovary area which has caused me to faint spectacularly, but then the pain has passed over. Has anyone had similar and what did you do? I've been reading on here that gynae issues don't seem to get treated very well, so what should I be asking the GP to think about? I don't want to be fobbed off with 'some people get ovulation pain'. Thanks.

I would be asking for a referral to a gynae and do not take no for an answer. Such problems are more often than not outside a GPs general remit. It needs further investigation.

In the meantime I would also keep a daily pain and symptom diary as this could be helpful to the gynae also.

I had this about 10 years ago. Started for no reason. It would almost always happen when I was deep asleep, make me wake up in cold sweat & so much pain that I couldn't even shout. I've collapsed on the floor but not really passed out. Strangely this stopped on its own before I could see medical help - after 4/5 episodes. Not being helpful but just wanted to say it does happen!
