Acne

I have been getting stubborn, cyst type pimples on my chin and one on my cheek. They are hard and sore and don't really go away, but leave an area of hyper pigmentation. I suspect the combination pill I take may be the culprit (ovysmen). Any emergency tips- I go away in a work or so and I don't want my spots to be the first thing the family sees! I am putting salicylic acid (Paula's choice 2% clear something liquid) and benzoyl peroxide on them. I have even tried putting the hydrocolloid blister plasters on them overnight! I will try to see the GP but that might not be possible before I go. Any tips/remedies very welcome. Thanks.

Hi sksk I have suffered this since my teens all along my jaw line and around my chin and mouth. I put up with it for a long time but finally got fed up with the pain of them and horrible look of my skin. I have found it to dry the skin quite badly at first but I stopped using it for a day or two and used lots of moisturiser and my skin seems to have got used to it and can now use daily, hope you find a solution

I went to the GP today and they suggested Duac, though there is an issue with the supplier, so they have prescribed separate benzoyl peroxide and separate clindamycin gel. I didn't think you could get panoxyl anymore- I remember using it in my late teens! I think I might have to go back to a regular mild foaming cleanser and ditch the Liz Earle for the time being. I don't have particularly oily skin either, so it feels like it is difficult to find the right products- I found effaclar a bit drying, though the face wash and toner were ok.
What moisturiser/ cleanser do you use?

I just use water to wash my face (very rarely wear make up) and have a cheep bog standard moisturiser, I think I got it in Wilkinson. I've always been wary of using to much product on my face in case it makes the spots worse (no idea if there is any science behind that but it's a theory that's stuck in my head)

Liz Earle hot cloth gave me spots.
Switch back to soap and water?
I use sudocrem on spot scars.
