I started seeing my new partner about 5 months ago and about 1 month after we started sleeping together I came down with a bad case of vaginal thrush (went to the gyno who diagnosed and tested for all STD's). I have since had it four times. I woke up this morning with a bad case of it and am not at the end of the my tether dealing with it. I have a really healthy diet (I don't eat bread, things with yeast, sugar, or dairy), and I have just started taking probiotics.
I am going to try and see my gyno tomorrow to see if there is a bigger issue but was wondering if anyone has advice?

My partner and I are not exclusive yet (although, I haven't slept with anyone else since I started sleeping with him), so I am not sure if this could be contributing? Also, should he be treated of thrush too? Is it possible that he is reinfecting me with it? I do always get a flair up of it after night/day of having sex multiple times, so seems that is contributing?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

If you're having unprotected sex then it's likely he'll need treating as well.

How can I put this delicately?

You may find that when the first flush of lust calms a little, your thrush will too.

Go easy you lucky girl! (Ph neutral lube may help too)

And yes, if he isn't getting treated he is almost definitely reinfecting you.

Yes he needs to be treated.

Men often have thrush without any symptoms.

Thanks everyone!

I went to my gynaecologist last week and she said that I am 'very thrushy'...and has advised that I see a specialist as I have had thrush 4 times in the past 4 months. This bout of thrush has been horrible, I have taken cansten twice, and doctor gave me 1 tablet and an anti fungal cream to use for two weeks. I am still a little itchy and red too.

I really want to get this under control because I have been miserable with the constant thrush. I asked the gyno if my partner could be reinfecting me and she said no, although I am still going to have him treated.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for me, and if anyone has tried to the anti candida diet?

thanks!

Apologies if this has already been done but have you been tested for diabetes?

yellobunny91 · 10/10/2015 23:28

I haven't but I will call my GP on Monday to see if I can be tested.
