Kidney infection and Insomnia

Can anybody help me?
I've recently come down with a kidney infection and feeling generally crap. I keep having hot cold sweats, week rapid pulse, flu like symptoms, pain. I also developed the most horrendous insomnia and am quite agitated. The doctor has prescribed a course of Antibiotics. I don't know if it's triggered off some anxiety disorder(which I've had it the past) or it's the infection. It's getting me down big time , I have a toddler and baby and am exhausted.

Are you drinking a huge amount of water to flush your kidneys ? Is there anyway you can lessen your load until you are better ? Temporary nanny, home helper, relative, friend--?Extra high dosage of vit c will assist in fighting off anything. I use a powder version which i mix into water and drink all day.

i'd go to the hospital if your description applied to me.

I sympathise, I get frequent kidney infections and feel exactly like you. The antibiotics will start to take away the sweats and flu like symptoms, painkillers will help for the pain - I usually start feeling better on about day 3 of antibiotics.

For me the insomnia tends to last until my kidneys are completely healed, so usually a week or so after the infection is gone, but I'm not sure if that's standard.

Get well soon! It's awful. I second the advice of drinking more than you ever thought possible to flush the kidneys through. Flowers
