mirena coil and odd bleeding (sorry tmi)

i've had a mirena coil since having ds last may. with it, my periods have not stopped compleatley, but usually get a bit of spotting, nothing more. out of the blue, yesterday and today, i'm bleeding like a heavy period, which after 18 mths of just spotting is quite odd. anyone else had this happen?.

coil threads are still there, no symptoms of pg but bad period pains, again which is unusual. can't get into doc's til next week.

Depends how heavy is heavy ! I had the odd lenghty period after months of next to nothing and it was deemed normal. Just had a new one fitted last week and still spotting

My bleeding's all over the place. Had nothing much at all for several months, then have been having a light period for about 2 weeks which is v irritating as I keep thinking it's all stopped.
Was breastfeeding and am doing a lot less now as baby is nearly 11 months - anyone medical know if that makes sense? Do think this is a weird device and noone seems to have same reaction to it...
