I've had a twitch in my lower eye lid on and off for about 6 weeks and it's driving me slightly mad! I rang the opticians and they said tiredness and stress, which I am a bit, I suppose, but not majorly.????Has anyone else had this & is it worth a doctors appt - I don't want to waste their time but it's starting to really annoy me now - any words of wisdom?

I've had this intermittently , neither gp nor opthamologist were concerned. I find it is worse if tired or my fringe needs cutting and brushes against it.

No words of wisdom but I've had this too for months but in my upper eyelid! Drives me insane! Not been to the docs about it so will be watching this thread ...

I just to get this when I was drinking too much. What's your alcohol consumption like? Mine was off the scale and I'm in AA now.Not suggesting you are but wine definitely had that effect on me

Stress is a definite cause, along with eyestrain - are you spending a long time in front of a computer?

I get this occasionally and it's infuriating! Once I had it in both eyes as well, which was seriously irritating.

A magnesium deficiency is also something to consider.

Look up Benign Fasciculation Syndrome on Wiki (it might not be that, of course, but it's a useful page which also has info on other causes of twitching).

I get this sometimes, but it usually only lasts a day or two tops, and also in other muscles.

Work has been very busy - could be eye strain. Wine could be the culprit....Confused????Was still twitching after a two week holiday though, so might go and get it checked.

Don't know what all the random question marks are - I'm testing the new app so it must be a glitch!!

I get this off and on. But also get it in other muscles too, it's really weird watching your toe or finger randomly move!

I'm not really sure what it is, never thought to get it checked out Blush
