Very worried re. sore area on breast

Am a regular who has name changed as I don't like airing my bits virtually or otherwise! I have noticed today a small sore area on my nipple - well, just under it on the areaola. It feels sore inside rather than externally sore, rather like a bruise. There is no obvious sign of inflamation or any lump that I can tell.

Have recently stoppped BF'ing (t10 days ago). DD bit me in the same area about 5 weeks ago and cause a tiny bit of a scab which I thought had completely healed as all pain and the scan from that had gone, though maybe this is related after all?

Bricking myself it's a nasty. Anyone got any advice or had a simlar thing - will try and get to GP tomorrow, but am hoping for someone to keep me calm I suppose.

I had a similar thing last year but wasn't breast feeding. It turned out to be nothing after a mammogram.

Is there a rash?I can understand your worry,it was a really scary time .As your baby bit you it's probably an infection or something simple.Your dr may not send you for a mammogram ,depends on your risk factors. My mum has had breast cancer .

I'm sure your gp will reassure you tomorrow, but don't put off that call.

Well there's no rash and it all looks normal, but it is so tender.

Am on my own tonight and getting all wound up. bugger.

wilmaaaa please try not to worry, you have at least two reasons for having an inflammation, have you ever had a blocked duct it might well be that if you have stopped bf? also i have had irritated skin on breasts which is caused by dry skin in winter. yes of course go to gp in the morning but i bet it'll be fine.

Saw the GP today who said... come back in a week. Not very helpful.
