Large(ish) armpit lump

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on what it may be. First noticed it 6 weeks ago, it's visible with my arm raised at the top of my armpit. Roundish and about 2cm X 2.5cm. Not painful, hadn't been ill at time

Have had dizziness which ended up as an ear infection for the last 2 weeks but it was there at least 4 week previously. Waiting for a scan, GP referred me for but not even got appointment yet. Any ideas??
Thank you.

Is it like a general fatty swelling in the armpit or more of a solid ball type lump under the skin? Your GP doesn't seem especially concerned by it, if he hasn't rushed you through the system for a scan.

It's more of a hard lump. 1st GP 2 weeks ago who referred me said I'd be sent to the hospital that could see me quickest. 2nd GP I went to see about the ear infection actually asked to have a look at the lump and said she'd had a message from the other one to ask about it. She then checked the referral had gone and said it needs an ultra sound She thinks maybe a cyst but she's not sure. 1st one said not a cyst, maybe glandular tissue.

I'm going to ring and tell them I've still got no appointment tomorrow. Oh, and they asked me to get a blood test but first nurse appointment is next week!!!
Thanks don't drink.
Any one else had a lump under the arm?

I've had similar although the ones I had were incredibly painful. I think they diagnosed as cysts and went with a strong course of antibiotics. The largest one I had was bigger than a golf ball - one came to enough to the surface and popped (twas pretty grim even for a spot squeeze fan like me!)

Thanks colley , I was thinking a cyst would probably be painful.poor you. The bursting sounds horrid.
Well, got the appointment through today, it's in Tuesday at the breast clinic! I wasn't expecting that!!! Not long to wait anyway. And I know the breast clinic well. Mum had BC at 37 so I go for yearly checks.
