Hi everyone, my little boy had his jabs today including the meningitis one. The nurse told me to watch for high temp and to give regular calpol which I have done but lo is still very hot and has been crying in between naps since 3o clock. (we never usually hear a peep from him). Just wondering what others experiences have been and how long symptoms lasted?

Sorry to hear about your little boy. How is he today? I have no experience of this, but if he's still running a high temperature today, because of his age I'd try to get an urgent docs appointment. At 8 weeks you need to be quite careful about how much Calpol etc you give. Hope he recovers soon.

Hi, my little boy had his today and is the same... Sleeping more but when he's awake screaming non stop and is very hot. He's had his second lot of calpol, hoping it passes soon!

My baby is a bit older and got his first Men B jab on Friday at 16 weeks.

She said that guidelines stated she needed to administer Calpol straight away, and sent me away with a leaflet plus a sachet of Calpol and syringe. The leaflet explains that the Men B jab does cause fever, and recommends three doses of Calpol in total, around 4-6 hours apart, plus more if needed.
