Can you take any cough medicines while pregnant?????????

just wondering as am 33wks pg and have had a cold past 3 days. Now been a bad cough yesterday but worse today. I do have asthma but inhalers are not helping the tightness. Have phoned gps but cant get in until friday by which time it will probably be on its way out.

I was told when i was pregnant that the only thing I could take for a cough was the very basic honey and glycerine you give to babies - which probably doesn't have much of an effect tbh

so does buttercup syrup come under that?? have the childrens and adults version..lol

No idea as I've never used it - can you check the list of ingredients? Or contact a pharmacy.

over the counter ones unlikely to help tight cough if you were able to take them nemo
TRy pouring boiling water over coffee and inhaling the steam - it is adecent bronciodilator as is standing in a steamy room

I have had fluey bug coughing thing for the past week, DH asked at the chemist what I could take (I am 40 weeks), answer was steaming water and paracetamol, it could loosen the cough but it isn't really going to help it. You could try some Vicks vapour rub or olbas oil in the steaming water, it does make it easier.
