I had tonsilitis/pharangitis for about 10 weeks. Swabs showed sensitivity to penicillin and bloods showed general bacterial infection.
It came on overnight and was bed ridden for days. Every time I finished antibiotics it flared up again. Finished final lengthy course 2 weeks ago but since then have had persistent low grade pain in my throat and very dry mouth. Drinking about 3 litres of water a day to try combat it but no improvement.
Is it worth seeing gp again or asking for a referral to ENT or do I just carry on carrying on and hope my body can fight it off???
