Blocked duct in breast

I gave up breast feeding a few weeks ago and have developed a blocked duct in my breast. It is very swollen, hard and painful and I can't sleep with it so went to the GP who prescribed antibiotics to prevent it from developing into mastitis.

At the moment it feels like it's throbbing, burning and itching. Just my upper arm touching my (humongous) breast hurts. However, my breast isn't red or hot so doesn't appear infected.

Is there anything else I can do to help it? Cocodamol and NSAIDs aren't helping much :(

Get a small towel or Muslim and run it under hot water, as hot as you can stand, and put it on your breast. Massage gently with your fingertips where you can feel the lumpy bits, pushing them towards your nipples. You can hand express a little too, once you've done the above. Repeat. Hot shower good too.

Sorry, muslin, not Muslim. Need to turn autocorrect off.

Thank you! (Am on the lookout for a hot Muslim to massage my breast ;) )

I am sniggering at hot Muslim - can I have one too!

Have tried heat and massage and it created a huge leakage session and HUGE relief!! Yay!

I'm now just getting a stinging/burning pain where the lump was.... Is that normal?
