DS2 (19 months) is a none poo-er. Alternates being constipated to holding it in which i know are connected. Its been 3 weeks since he did a proper poo if u ignore the single bout of diarrhea(sp?) he had the weekend b4 last.

He has been straining since friday but producedd nothing but a few marks in his nappy.

Tonight he finally went!! He has drawn blood on my face thru gripping me so hard and it was HUGE but YEY he has been!

(sorry wanted to share and not sure where else i can lol

Ah no ... please resist the urge to post a photo! The poster who did that was so vilified that she had to change her name!

Silly question but are you giving him anything to help his constipation?

DumbledoresGirl · 27/11/2006 22:09

You know WWB, that thread is the one I will remember above all others when MN is put a distant memory in my addled, senile brain. But I honestly don't recall the name of the poster.

WigWamBam · 27/11/2006 22:10

No, I can't remember either ...

MerlinsBeard · 27/11/2006 22:11

only lactulose every other day. without giving TMI its not hard. he withholds until it has to come out coz its all compacted but thats where it turns to constipation because its so bloody big that it hurts. We have another review when he stops teething

Oh and how are you today WWB?

Yes MOM any medication being tried? regretably I know a lot about constipation and the like (not personally!) as my ds2 was constipated for a few months once and then dd was constipated for an horrendous year or more - no kidding. Loads of things are available without prescription...

DumbledoresGirl · 27/11/2006 22:14

Lactulose was useless for my dd and she was on a much higher dose. She also withheld her poo as she had an anal fissure. Glycerin suppostitories were good for those desperate, not pooed in weeks moments.

WigWamBam · 27/11/2006 22:15

Found it, DG ... it was cathyspam . Who then went and posted again

Am a bit better today, keeping my fingers crossed that it's all OK!

MOM, I'd take him back to the doctors if I were you - constipation is horrible, and it doesn't sound as if the lactulose every other day is helping him much. Poor little soul, it must be so painful.

MerlinsBeard · 27/11/2006 22:15

i will remember that DG thank you.

I should have said that shouldn't i lol! need some sleep!

DumbledoresGirl · 27/11/2006 22:19

Thank you for that link WWB. Happy days! Whatever became of Cathyspam?

WigWamBam · 27/11/2006 22:21

She said on one of the threads she was changing her name because of the hoo-har ... wonder if she did?

WigWamBam · 27/11/2006 22:22

MOM, it really does sound as if the lactulose isn't working for him - there must be something else they can do, and he shouldn't have to wait until he's finished teething ... because that might easily be other year and a half yet!
