Lumps in both breasts- terrified

Hi everyone, looking for some support. I am early 30s with three young dc. This morning was having a feel and noticed a few small lunps in both my breasts. Am now absolutely petrified and have made appointment to see GP. Never been aware of them before though they feel very deep (only can feel them of really press down hard using finger tips, not of applying lighter pressure).

Have they just come up? I had this happen at one stage and it turned out to be a hormonal thing fixed by evening primrose oil. Not suggesting you have the same thing (how would I know over the internet?) but just saying several lumps in both breasts sounds like what I had. Deep breaths OP Smile

Am trying! I think they have just come up but not sure if I have ever pressed so deep before. I definitely have got hormonal issues - thyroid was out of control a couple of months ago, and other hormonal things were causing a bit of spotting which was investigated and has settled. But feeling sick and panicky.

It's not the right method of checking to press with your fingertips. we'd all feel lumps and bumps that way. The right way is to lie down and press gently with the flat palm of your hand working from inner to outer edge and under collar bone and armpit. If you press with your fingertips you will feel all the glands and even your ribs.
It's highly unlikely it's cancer as it's in both sides and you are young.
See your dr but relax- likely to be nothing.
Try examining lying flat with palm of your hand- bet you can't feel anything :)

Thanks for that advice. Yes I can easily feel my rib bones. My boobs are small and I am thin so can feel everything!

I have had lumps. One by the nipple disappeared- I think it must have been a cyst.

The other I had a fine needle aspiration of and it turned out to be a fibroadenoma- that's harmless.

I know it's hard not to worry but it could turn out to be harmless.

I've been to my GP. She examined me throughly and did two xaninationa if both breasts and my armpits and collarbone area. She said she couldn't feel any lumps, just ribs etx. she was very reassuring so will relax now.
