sorry havent a clue what its name is,my dd's paediatrician called it pneumo vaccs, but gp called it something else!!

anyway,dd had it on friday (shes 2 years and 3 months, but had to hae it as she has cf)

anyway, she had it and all weekend shes been crabby and irritable.yesterday she was vomitting.today she is constantly crying (she was screaming during the night for 35 mins constantly),and her leg where she had teh jab is still red and swollen.

none of my lot have ever had a reaction to any jabs,so i dont know if thsi is a reaction or just her being unwell.

she hasnt had a temp, and between the crabbiness shes fine!!

am very tired and worn out with worry!gp said it doesnt sound like reaction,as it wouldve been on friday!

That sounds EXACTLY like the reaction DS had.
Jab on the Monday - by Weds he was crabby, irritable & clingy. Vomited wednesday afternoon. Woke up more than usual in the night, his leg was sore. Still quite crabby & clingy up to Saturday - then Saturday afternoon he was back to his smiling, happy, fun-loving cheeky self (and back to eating well again too).

Also - it would take time for a reaction to appear, so it wouldn't necessarily have happened on Friday. Think about it - you sit next to someone with a cold, it takes a couple of days for YOU to develop it. GP is talking moo poo

my DD developed a reaction 48 hours after this jab...having had no reactions to the other jabs. no vomiting though....but hot, hot , hot, bad tempered and clingy and hot red bump on leg. subsided after a couple of days...used calpol etc....it will pass.offer extra fluids and calpol if necc....xx

gp told us to wait in surgery for 15 mins after the ja to make sure there was no reaction.rang surgery today and demaded to speak to gp (as dd has cf this is quite common now!!!gp is worried we contact hospital if they say/do anything wrong!!)

that was when gp said it isnt a reaction as it would have happened on friday and not yesteday.

dd was just so clingy and crabby saturday and then was really poorly yesterday.stupid gp said that maybe shes got a bug or something shes eaten.but the rest of my kids are fine.

shes off her food aswell iklboo, which is huge issue as she needs to take her cf meds with food!

nope...sorry ! DD slept a lot more...but she is a lazy baby anyway!

Jimjams2 · 27/11/2006 14:34

you can report a potential reaction yourself here . I'd encourage anyone to do so.

lulumama · 27/11/2006 14:35

will do jimjamx

buffythenappyslayer · 27/11/2006 14:39

it says "prescription medicines" (which appear to have been fogotten) but I'd use it anyway. Adverse reactions to jabs are very under-reported.

dd had a reaction to this the week before last and tbh, she's poorly now, though i'm not sure if it's related. It started with a high temp/being crabby about 2 to 3 days after the jab. She didn't vomit but her temp was hard to get down. She was ok after 3 days but as I said she isn't now

buffythenappyslayer · 27/11/2006 15:40

dd hasnt had a temp at all, which was why i was wondering if it is a reaction or not.gp said to give her calpol if she got hot,but she hasnt.

i did give her calpol yesterday after she was sick, just incase she did get a temp or have tummy ache.only gave her 5ml,and she was fine after it.she wasnt sick anymore after taht either.

she has been saying her leg is 'poppo' (its a welsh thing!!) and keeps tugging where she had jab.its still very red and swollen.so might resort to calpol as she didnt mention it hurt after she had it before.
