as above
first had this some weeks ago and got some canestan cream which seemed to soothe it
however its back with a vengance and nothing is soothing it except cold flannels which I've dampened and put in the freezer to hold against it which eases the burning
any ideas as to what it could be or what I could do to help it

I would pop to the out of hours doctor if it's that painful or get an appt on Monday first thing.

EnlightenedOwl · 22/08/2015 12:38

was trying to avoid that because of whereabouts the itching is!

The doctor will have seen it all before, best to go and see what's wrong. I had cystitis and thought I'd got rid of it, but it became a terrible kidney infection. By the time I went to the doctor he said if I'd left it a day later my kidneys would have started to shut down!

oh and I only had to wee in a pot!

EnlightenedOwl · 22/08/2015 12:50

yeah I'll get an appointment on Monday if I can. Can't stand this!

You need swabs for thrush, plus also STDs (sorry).

In the meantime a cool bath and a Piriton might help with morale.

Not quite the same but DH swears by sudocream for post cycling burning. It might ease it until you get to the doctors.

EnlightenedOwl · 22/08/2015 13:54

thanks for suggestions. A cool salt bath and Lanacaine has taken the worst edge off. Didn't get any sleep last night with it.
desperate to get to docs on Monday!

I would get to an out of hours if I was so uncomfortable. I appreciate they aren't everywhere mind you.
If you call your surgery there should be an out of hour's Dr's service that picks up. They may be able to help.
Try cold natural yogurt if you can't be seen. That may help.

Maybe go and get a canasten all in one with the tablet and the cream. The cream alone never clears thrush for me which is what it sounds like you've got to me.

There's a condition called lichen sclerosus that can cause itching and pain around the vulva. Have you noticed any whitening or discolouration?

You definitely need to get checked out by the gp.

EnlightenedOwl · 22/08/2015 14:37

Can't see anything abnormal at all its just this burning itch so it could be a reaction to something but goodness knows what. Definitely need to get some help with it!
