Very minor op - will they let me home alone?

I've now see a surgeon and due to have a small but annoying cyst removed. I've been given a date in a few weeks and have just realised DH will be away that week, so I'll be coming home alone from hospital, to an empty house. It's a day case, under local anaesthetic, with a few soluble stitches. I expect to be sore the next day but okay. Cyst is on my perineum. What I am worrying about is whether the hospital will be concerned if I go home alone. And most of all if they'll stop me or delay the procedure. I so want it done. My DH will be back the next day.

I think with a local they will but with a general you have to agree to have some one there?
Sounds so painful for you!!!

As the procedure will be done using a local anaesthetic it shouldn't cause any problem at all for you to return home alone and I very much doubt that you'll be asked if you have anyone to accompany you, but can you not arrange for a friend/neighbour to pick you up and perhaps stay for a cuppa after they've seen you home?

Alternatively, call a cab when you're ready to leave the hospital so that you don't run the risk of any discomfort adversely affecting your driving and phone your dh/other relative when you get in to offload any 'shaky' feelings you may be having after your minor op.

I drove home alone after a cyst removal under a LA. They made me sit down for ages after the op though before they let me go, to make sure I was ok.
