To feed or not to feed a throwing-up baby?

Seven-month-old DS has been sick three times - twice yesterday and once this morning (recycled Weetabix - nice!)
Should I feed him anything or not and if so, then what?

Is he still breastfed? If so, keep breastfeeding.

Otherwise, I'm not sure. I'd definately leave solids out, but consider formula.

I think feed if they want feeding

Yes would stick to milk alone

Ring NHS direct they are always very helpful

He's got a bit of a cold and seems to be coughing which makes him sick - he's not throwing up randomly... yet. I'll try NHS Direct though. Cheers x

Oh if it is just a coughing sort of sick I would definitely feed as normal

but NHS direct will know for sure

DS has had a nasty sick bug this week. The very firm advice from both drs and NHS Direct was to keep feeding him b/milk. He may throw it up again but he would still absorb something and this would mean he was less likely to dehydrate. They do NOT advocate starving babies and children any more. He is 2 so I would imagine this advice doubly applies to a young baby. Hope it stops soon!

It's hard to tell - he coughs before he's sick then up comes everything! Bleurgh...
