Arthritis in my foot!

Hi after 8 months of pain, I was finally told today on my first visit to a podiatrist that an mri scan I had done 3 weeks ago shows severe arthritis in my foot. She said as its severe I need to go back to my gp and be referred. Has anyone any advice please, especially self help? Thank you.

I'm not sure in terms of self help (ive not found anything to be of help personally), but definitely seeing your gp so you can get access to help in terms of referrals to see what can be offered to you is your first step.

I have it in all my joints but I also have a condition that makes it a bit complicated - I have osteoarthritis caused by ehlers Danlos syndrome (EDS) and my EDS was worsened by physiotherapy (I had it with a specialist physiotherapist so it wasn't like they didn't know about my condition).

Hopefully your gp can help, possibly a referral to physio would be a good start also you don't mention which type of arthritis and the type impacts on the treatment as well.

I hope your gp can find you some help.
