Does anyone know whether it is normal for baby girls to be born with an ovarian cyst?

DD is 5 months. I had a single umbilical artery in my pregnancy so we had a lot of monitoring both ante and post natally. She doesn't appear to have any problems resulting from this which is great. However, when she had a kidney scan a few weeks back the radiographer spotted she had an ovarian cyst. Quite normal she said - caused by hormones in the womb. However, when I went for the follow up appointment the consultant said she didn't know what she was talking about as she isn't a doctor and asked me whether I wanted to be referred for the cyst. Obviously I couldn't say no, so now we are waiting for another appointment to follow up on this. Just wondered whether anyone had any experience of this?

Sorry for rambling, thanks.

Sorry to hear this and that you are dealing with misinformation AGAIN. Hope the appointment comes through soon and this sorted soon.

PS Ds has stopped being sick and is sleeping - hurrah!
