Laser eye surgery - anyone had it done ?

I am curious about this - am very shortsighted and have worn contact lenses since I was 18- no real problems with them at all,it's just that buying the solutions gets very expensive and it would be nice to be able to see clearly without them or wearing glasses - can anyone enlighten me ? Did it hurt ??! do you have to keep really still - am very squeamish and wriggly.

Never had it done but really don't like the way Jonathan Edwards is looking at me. Keeps staring.

DH has just had Lasik done 2 weeks ago! I think his prescription was around the -2.5 mark. He said it was very unpleasant but completely painless.

Both eyes were done at once with very little change out of £2k. At his check up the next day, his vision was 20/20.

Just to echo 21stcenturygirl's recommendation of Mr O'Brart at St Thomas's. Dp had his eyes done by him there a few months ago and it's been a complete success. Dp also did a lot of internet research and decided that O'Brart was the best specialist available. The follow-up care is excellent.

Argh no idea why that link didn't work - syntax looked right when writing it - but something went funny on post!
