Shea butter for eczema?

Have seen this recommended but wondered if any Mumsnetters had experience? DS has got the winter spotty face and scaly legs again and aqueous cream just isn't cutting it this year. Thanks

i do not have excema but i do have dematitis(?) on my hands. My doctor advised me to used aqueous cream, which was wonderful at first, but now has seemed to stop working. A couple of weeks ago my friend had a body shop party and passed around a tub of shea butter, which i did rub into my hands. Later that evening they felt lovely. my hands havent felt smooth for ages but now they do, but i do still use the aqueous cream for washing with tho as it stops them dryng out like soap does.

Have you tried Aveeno? It's made from wheatgerm and it's often very good for eczema, you can buy it in Boots but I think that it's available on prescription too.

My brother uses this and swears by it. He's had eczema for 30 odd years and it's the best thing he has tried (as well as diet related stuff)

I will ask him again this weekend. I don't think he buys it from the Body Shop though.

i'd like to know about the sha butter. it was £23 in l'occitaine!
