Shingles.How long does the exhaustion last?

Diagnosed a fortnight ago. Given anti-vitals, and the rash is clearing but still hurts. But the exhaustion is terrible. Just normal every day tasks wipe me out.

Have a 9 year old dd to look after and am going to France next week on holiday. Can barely walk up the stairs

Unfortunately mine lasted about 6 weeks from diagnosis. It is rough but it did slowly get better over that time.

6 weeks. Are you ok now? Was that just tiredness that lasted 6 weeks, or all of it?

You poor love, Oranges - its horrid. It did take about 6 weeks to feel totally normal again, for me, but I didn't feel as exhausted as you do now for those 6 weeks: got gradually better and better. You will be knackered for the next couple of weeks though, so anything at all you can plot to occupy your dd will be good. Take care of yourself, get early nights, and hope you enjoy some of the holiday xx

But I'm a teacher. It started on the last day of term....6 weeks sounds about right just to take me to the end of the holidays. I'm just so feeble. Even hanging out washing knackers me. Not so much tired just weak and spaced out.

When my granny had this, the doctor recommended high doses of Vit B complex.. so a mixture of all of them. A quick sweetener and artificial colour full way to do it would be a couple of berocca fizzy tablets a day, but I'm never sure whether with those whether the energy is some sort of additive/chemical high . Tell me the holiday is something civilised in a gite where you can go out for all food and not you trying to cater for a family of five over a camping stove?

Sorry I didn't reply. I had it in 2011. It was the tiredness that lasted so long the pain etc probably was gone in about 10 days and no remaining scars from spots left after a few months. It really did wipe me out.
