Please help , dentist fear!

Finally it came time where I have to pay visit to dentist .I haven't seen one in maybe 20years, I have huge fear of dentist or anything to do with mouth or head. Fear is coming from very young age due to a very very bad experience with dentist.
I have to go , I have to but I am so scared! I am honestly having nightmares about the visit. Just thinking about making an app is making me to have a panic attac .
I live in London (NW) , could you please advice me what is the best thing to do and if anyone can recommend dentist who would have bit more understanding for my situation. Also I have 8mnth old baby and would you be kind to let me know what treatment I can receive under NHS and the cost ! Thank you so much.
(ps my dh is paying for all dental work so I genuinely don't know)

Hi Croatianmum. I was in the same position as you back in January when I visited the dentist for the first time in 10 years - I needed a couple of fillings and two extractions. I was really nervous and tearful at the first appointment but everything has gone fine. Explain to the dentist/receptionist when you make the appointment the situation and that you are a nervous patient and the dentist should then go out of their way to reassure you.

Most of the treatment I've needed as been available on the NHS but I will also have some private treatment (my choice) as I want to have an implant.

Definitely tell them you are v nervous.
(Not a dentist but have friends who are)
You can be sedated for a procedure if it's needed. They are n the clock like GP's but if they know you are nervous then they should try to make you feel better
