Does anyone give their baby vitamin D?

I had my DS 6 weeks ago, in Belgium, and they're telling me to give him drops of vitamin D. (already giving him drops of Vitamin K)

Is anyone else doing this and do you really have to?
Don't want to give him anything unnecessary. I'm breastfeeding and taking pregnacare...

I don't know what's in pregnacare or how well it gets into breastmilk.
But how dark is your skin tone naturally, and how much sun did you get this last summer?

if the answers were light-skinned and lots of sun, then I would think the Vit. D. unneccessary. But if the answer were dark skin and little sun last summer, then I would think the Vit. D. a good idea for bubba.
