Can you get tonsilitis at just one side?

I have a very sore throat and trouble swallowing, painful, tender neck, pain in the ear, all at one side but the other side is fine.

That's the thing. I don't actually feel that bad so maybe I am being a hypochondriac. I don't have a temp/headache etc, but just struggling to eat/drink/swallow at all and in some pain.
