They have found it very early, by fluke as she had a scan as part of some pre-op tests for something else. It is about 1cm (or less) in size. She had a biospy about 2 weeks ago and has been confirmed as malignant. She was trying to sound upbeat so as not to worry me, especially as we were hours from going on holiday.

That is all I know. We are now on holiday and keep missing getting hold of mum to find out more.

Can anyone off me a hand hold? Info? Reassurance? Feeling lost, upset and angry.

I'm so sorry. Very good news they've found it early though - way more options for treatment.

So sorry, what a worrying time for you all. My uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer last year, his was found quite early too and they removed it with key hole surgery. He was in hospital for four days. They removed it all but he opted for a course of chemo just to make 100% sure it has all gone. The chemo is making him very tired but not too ill. That will be finished next month and then hopefully he'll be all clear.

So hopefully as they've found your mum's early they will be able to remove it in the same way.

Big hugs, it is such a worry but hope you can enjoy your holiday too and be there for your mum once you're back.

I've just read back over my text messages and my uncle's was 6cm, so it sounds as though your mum's has been found very early which is positive.
