Sooooo, I have a total saga of crippling pain just beneath my ribs on the right. Where my pulse is strongest iykwim? I have been fobbed off and fobbed off, told it was gallstones and scanned (it isn't), told repeatedly it is anxiety ( am quite depressed but not anxious) all while it has steadily got worse over the course of 2 years. Finally I saw a doctor after having to take two days off work ( I never do this) and I think we put the anxiety thing to bed. I have been taking omeprazole which I didn't think was doing anything, and she told me to stop taking for a few weeks, do an h.pylori test and then start them again. Having stopped them it turns out that they were doing something after all.... Sad.
I am now 6 days I and totally crippled ( and I am pretty good with pain) and I don't know how I am going to get through another week and a bit. Peptobismol, paracetamol etc doesn't touch it. Single codeine doesn't touch it. Double codeine does, but also renders me inapable of doing anything. Is there some other obvious painkiller I am missing that I could be taking or something else that might help????

Forgot to say that a hot water bottle helps a bit!

Same here, no advice but watching with interest. My pain goes through to my back and when I get an attack I can't even move, the pain is as bad as childbirth. No gallbladder btw, that came out last year!
Good luck.
