Lump on side of neck...

I have a large painful lump onthe left side of my neck. have been to GP who has prescribed me co-amoxiclav and told me that I need to give up breastfeeding for a week. dd9+months and really don't want to stop feeding her. as I struggled for 4 1/2 months to get b/fding established inthe first place. Have been feeling rotten for about a week now.

hiya, try reposting this under breast & bottlefeeding, and with a more relevant topic line so that one of the breastfeeding counsellors sees it.

Ask for a second opinion. Go to another practice. You need to see another GP please!

was there a reason he wouldn't prescribe an alternative antibiotic?

you may find this interesting it is about the medicine and as with every drug there is no research to prove it is damaging when bf'ing .. I've taken amoxicillin whilst bf'ing with no issues it is just the anti-bacterial agent that could possibly be at issue

I'd see a different gp if I were you
