I don't remember this mole...should I be worried?

I have just noticed a mole on my thigh which I don't remember noticing before. It is mm in size. Should I see someone or wait and see if anything happens?

I'd get it checked just to be on the safe side.

get it checked out asap, but don't panic yourself. I had all sorts of weird little skin growths and a very odd mole on the tip of my finger (!) appear when I was pregnant. Both my uk and usa doctors assured me that it was normal to get these during pregnancy. The same types of hormones that make your hair grow/not grow when you are pregnant also do funny things to your skin. However, I had all of the raised ones removed and biopsied immediately just in case. (if you are worried about the local anaesthetic to have them removed, I had mine done without any anaesthetic and it really hurts almost not at all ... about like a jab).

whoops just realized that you didn't say you were pregnant. If you are NOT pregnant you should go immediately to your gp and have it removed ASAP and insist on having it biopsied.

If a mole is a perfect circle and does not have irregular sides or shape it should be fine. Your gp should examine it under a microscope but there is probably nothing to worry about. During pregnancy moles can chnage to darker colours and they can also grow so honestly dont worry but get it checked anyway.

Does this site help?

It has ideas of when to go to GD, etc.

Thanks for all your replies.
I asked my husband to have a look when he got home and he thought it was fine.
The cancer website was aso useful - thanks for that. It doesn't match any of the 'concerns' noted on there so I will watch it for a while.

(I'm not pregnant!)
