What could this be?

This is kind of hard to explain, but for the past couple of weeks I have been aware of a "pounding" in my head. Not painful at all, but more like that feeling you get when you get water in your ears. I can kind of feel and hear my heart pounding in my head, if that makes sense.

I have mild asthma and over the past few days my chest is feeling tight and sore, and I am getting really breathless walking up the slight hill to my house, and even going upstairs, I get a burning sensation. It does settle a bit with rest, but the pounding doesn't.

I am also prone to vertigo and have just got over a mild bout of it, does this sound like something connected to that?

I'm 48, bit overweight, never smoked and don't drink.

maybe blood pressure? Get a check up.

Could be if your asthma is worse than usual, your oxygen levels are a little bit lower than they normally are and your heart is beating a bit stronger/faster to compensate.
It could be your B P is raised, maybe connected to your asthma problem, maybe not.
It may be, if your vertigo symptoms were due to inner ear problem, you are noticing the heart sounds more than usual.
Agree with amarmai that a check up would be a good idea.

Or maybe your ears/eustacian tubes might be bunged up? Has everything else gone a bit quiet? In which case v gentle blow with pinched nise might help, at least thats what ds was told in his glue ear days

SonjasSister · 07/07/2015 20:08

Pinched nose, obviously .

Doesn't explain the burning sensation , though, so best go to docs Id say

Low blood pressure? I get it with that, as if somebody is squeezing my chest, and somebody else is pushing my ears together through my skull.
