kidney infection. help!

I've got a kidney infection. Earliest doc app is the end of next week, they won't give me an emergency one as I'm not passing blood.
Im so desperate for any kind of advice/old wives tales.
Cranberry juice was no good.
I'm already drinking loads of water, avoiding coffee and alcohol. Tried apple cider vinegar in water (grim taste but might be helping) and eating loads of fresh veg and fruit. Also going to try turmeric and garlic.
Any other things I should try? Im desperate!

Lemon barley water can help to flush out the system.
Co-codamol can help with the pain.

Eat little amounts (for some reason I found it worse after a meal)

Shock your doctors is shit! We always see someone someday if they're querying a UTI.

Have you got a walk in centre your way? I would call OOH tomorrow.

Sorry no advice otherwise Blush I hope you get it sorted.

Can I buy lemon barley water or do I need to make it? How would I make it?
Im struggling to take any pain killers as they make me very dizzy and feel even more nauseous.

Lemon barley neutralises the sting bit does nothing for the infection Cranberry is only a preventative no good once an infection takes hold You need antibiotics and asap very negligent GP

AMcoffeeLover · 26/06/2015 18:18

If it'll stop the stinging and burning I'll drink it!

Buy it - supermarkets sell it in the cordial/squash aisle. I think Robinsons are the only people to make it these days.

noddyholder · 26/06/2015 18:19

It will do that! Drinking pints of it gave me relief. Iboprofen with it is good too

Have you got a kidney infection or a UTI?

AMcoffeeLover · 26/06/2015 19:52

I had a diagnosed kidney infection last year and its exactly the same as then.
What's the difference between kidney infection and uti?

Different parts of the body, I think. UTI is bladder and urethra. Kidney infections are serious and nasty - either way you need ABs
